How did I manage to visit both London and Bali and miss all 4 of Psylo’s store locations? So sad! Because Psylo of the UK makes rockin’ grungy, urban, tribal, punkish pieces of ultimate wearability. Their lineup is large, and so many of these jackets and pants could be worn to the office. Many of them are are classic, simple designs with feral accents – my favorite.
From their site: “As global travelers, tribal explorers, surfers, dancers and seekers of new experiences, Psylo’s design team realized that the clothes they wanted and needed to wear had not yet been made. So as they hiked in the Amazon jungle, climbed the Himalaya, traveling between cities world wide, they began to make the comfortable, stylish, durable and fun clothes they needed for their personal expression and their adventurous lifestyles. They learned to design for function and manifest their inspirations, making Psylo clothes an innovative fusion of functional traveling gear, urban fashion, tribal artwork and global sacred symbols.”
Can I just say: swoon? Best description of this style of clothing, ever! Inspirational and aspirational. <3
I recall trying on a few Psylo pieces in San Francisco’s Ceiba Records and just loving one particular patched-together roughspun jacket design for its durability and snug fit (I think it was the Pecoa jacket). But that piece didn’t make the budget that day, I’ve regretted it ever since. And I’ve been drawn to their iconic Metal Jacket with its high, stiff-wired collar and enormous brass safety pins for years.
